E.S. Larsen Nameplate About E.S. Larsen headshot

My primary focus in life is building people. That's an art, and a craft, and a science (I'm always studying the work of others, looking at what works and what doesn't, and trying to learn from my own mistakes.)

As a writer, I focus on novels that are enjoyable to read but leave the reader with questions, thoughts and observations about their own lives and the lives of those around them. I strive to ask provocative questions and explore both (more often: many) different sides without providing answers or taking a stand on which the reader shoud espouse. One of my primary objectives is to engender empathy for those who think differently than the reader does, and to encourage the reader to think differently themselves.

One of my joys in writing, teaching, and leadership is learning myself new ways to think about things, always having my own thoughts challenged, and building my own empathy for many viewpoints. So rewarding.

At work, I build people through my leadership of engineering teams and leaders; it's a great venue for impacting those around me and building products that make a difference.

I also find enourmous impact in striving to be a better teacher, especially as an Adjunct Professor in Computer Science.

My photography focuses on presenting novel perspectives, showing life around us in novel ways. I want people to look, stop, wonder, ask themselves again, look again, and then walk away with a sense of wonder and also new eyes. That's my goal, and I love the challenge.

I'm excited to connect with you!
